(Helping Young People Elevate) Ministries was birthed in 2002 due to a deep hunger and passion to be obedient to God in helping His people that were going through various difficult challenges in their lives. The purpose, as an outreach Ministry, is to teach and show forth God’s word with truth, love and conviction. The mission scripture is: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”` Matthew 15:16.
The Cosmetologist
Moni has been a hairstylist for 20 plus years. She is known as an authority in haircutting and design. She has developed a reputation amongst her peers as one of the best curling artist in the Washington Metropolitan area. This is due in part to the exciting and innovative way that she demonstrates her curling skills at major fashion and hair shows. She uses a variety of different looks, from hip hop to elegance, to reflect her many moods. A native of the Washington Metropolitan area, she explains that
every since she was a little girl she always had an interest in modeling and creating extraordinary hairstyles. Often times, Moni demonstrates her beauty and talent by creating her own hairstyles, makeup and fashions for the shows that she participates in.

Bruised But Not Broken
Bruised but Not Broken is the autobiography of Monica, also known as Moni. She almost didn’t exist. If it wasn’t for God’s hand upon her life as she came out of her mother’s womb, she would have been just a memory. Talk about a testimony! Monica was born and raised in a dysfunctional family filled with drugs, violence and abuse. As she began to feel rejected, lost and alone, especially after the loss of both parents, she tried to find “love” in all the wrong places, people and things. The same places you may turn to when you’re lonely, those same people you turn to when you feel insecure and those same things you turn to when you just want to “feel good”. After only finding heartache and heartbreak in these things, she turned her focus to the one and only Man who could save her from destruction, JESUS!
